When it comes to ultrabooks, or compact laptops we often go to something very light and easy to carry, the first laptop that pops up in our minds is Macbook Air, despite the fact that it is a 5 year old laptop, we still budge in to be one of the best ultrabooks in the market, but after knowing about the latest and greatest Asus ZenBook 14 you might consider this one over Air!

Asus ZenBook 14:Overview

Considering the Monsterous i7 and the powerful SSD, the new ZenBook 14 from Asus is thin, crisp and futuristic with the edge-to-edge bezel-less display. The unique Metal finish gives it a premium feel in the hand and makes it the best windows version of a premium ultrabook experience.

ZenBook 14 Hardware: A Powerhorse?

The Asus ZenBook 14 comes packed with the core i7-8565U with Integrated Intel UHD 620 Gpu, But hold on, we have a dedicated graphics card: Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU with 2GB VRAM. Powered up by 8GB of DDR3 RAM on board as a standard, and a super fast 512GB PCIe SSD storage. All this on Windows 10,making it a power horse in a such a small form factor. The eye-grabber in ZenBook 14 is its screen, a 13.3-inch 1920 x 1080 display in a chasis of 13 inch? thanks to the special ErgoLift hinge which hides down the thick chin of the laptop we get a 13.3 inch bright screen! Coming to the camera we have an IR HD camera upfront for video conferences, coming to the battery we have a 50 Wh 3-cell lithium-polymer battery as its power source, which gives you a day of charge with 20 percent left, all this powerful features gets ZenBook 14 a lead over Macbook Air, while there isn’t much to compare except thermals on ZenBook is a slight hiccup and Mac OS vs Windows 10 is a debate for another day!

Asus Zenbook 14 : Design and Experience

Asus has built this ZenBook keeping the premium aspect in mind, the metallic finish with the trippy concenctric circles effect is an unique design aesthetic, while the vivid display fits well inside the black frame, the special hinge makes the bezel-less experience more magical!
the keyboard is ergonomic as well as well placed, travel is great and the keyboard lights have a three mode control, coming to the special part, this has a capactive number pad below touch pad which can be activated by a long press on corner of your touch pad, and now this is something innovative and also useful at the same time.

Asus ZenBook 14: Performance and Daily Use

Asus ZenBook 14 is no doubt a high-spec beast, with all the high end specs and SSD it is a beast when it comes to day to day usage, while you can do light editing and watch movies, prolonged usage does heat up the device and takes time to cool down, It was probably made keeping in mind the usage of an ultrabook, but we pushed the limits and tried some games, performance no doubt it did win at all aspects, we could easily get around 50-60 fps at high graphic settings, while it did heat up quickly,we didn’t experience any fps drops which is a good thing.

Asus ZenBook 14: Pricing

ZenBook 14 costs around Rs 90,990, for the i7 version and increases according to the variations, now it might seem a bit pricey, but when you compare it with Macbook Air, it surely has incredible specs and its worth the price, if you are looking for a premium yet a good powerhorse, now this is definitely not for someone who does heavy video editing or heavy gaming, this is purely meant for professionals who just have minimal work to do on their laptops.
